Juvenile- Meaning, scope, concept and remedies

Recently at a trial stage of murder-cum-gang rape  case, which shook the nation at a large extent, when one of the delinquent is found as juvenile, a lot of hue & cry has occurred  and voice of change in prevailing law is raised by various groups and individuals.

Who is a juvenile ? Any one who is below the age of 18 years is juvenile.. This is what law says.

Any law which is prevailing and crafted for the benefit and welfare of society. A society believes in smooth progress of man kind and protection of future generation so that the ideal situation shall remain in world for human-beings. Sometimes a lot of contradiction is faced and felt when someone tries to use the welfare measures as tools in the self interest. In this case as well the society is having same feeling that is why a voice is being raised and several people in group or individual basis are trying to file some representation to safe guard the interest of common people however I feel that when we speak about the protection of violation of rights of a minor then age of 18 years is pretty good as it would help in keeping them safe in disturbed areas especially when they could be used as child soldiers, object of human trafficking/sexual exploitation, suicidal bombers and child labor but as soon as if we think about the interests and expectations from minor in ideal conditions then 18 years is too high.

According to me in normal conditions a juvenile is such person who may not explain his illness to doctor. One who may be made understood once to taste bitter guard after explaining him the advantages. One who goes to temple and bows his head when he is said to do so. One who is escorted to-fro school. One who seeks permission to go for nature's call even when he is ready to lose all his control in fraction of seconds. I do not like to go into the issue by mentioning age in years as it depends on the society and its out-view towards the people.

The age of 18 years is relevant when:
1. He is threatened/coerced.
2. He is exploited and feared.
3. He is exposed to countless dangers in his bring-ship.
4. He may be used as a soldier/suicidal bomber in wars against civilized systems.
5. He is under assault.

In such circumstances even a major who is incapable of  defending himself may be given full protection.

The age of below 18 years may not be applied when:
1. He disrespects/molests/rapes a woman.
2. He bullies his younger playmates/school mates.
3.He exploits young kids.
4. he touches private parts of opposite sex in the guise of his childhood status.
5. He voluntaries participate in capital-crime having punishment as rare.
6. He voluntaries become the carrier of drug, terrorist and disruptive acts.

How to identify whether he is victim or otherwise:
1. Background check from school, teachers, class mates, playmates, elders of residence.
2. His education record, extra curricular  record, sports activities, cultural activities.
3. An common psychology test to know his interest, hobbies, habits, attitude and  vision toward the society and self.
4. The detailed interview by a board consisting of child councilor, psychologist, teacher, police officer under a well versed judicial officer.

How to bring back a delinquent to society:
1. Regular counsellings.
2. Participation in cultural/sports activities interested to him.
3. Carrot and stick system.
4.  Education and self entrepreneur training schemes/courses.
5. Enrollment with NCC/NSS and other youth building activities.
6. Knowledge of law and punishments.

How to stop some one who fails all schemes and trainings:
1. Isolated life till he regains the consciousness.
2. Strict and disciplined life schedule.
3. Rare entertainment.
4. Difficult living conditions.
Breaks in such schedules must be given so that one may know what is a normal life if lives as per norms and following routines.

We must remember when we speak about the rights of delinquent, before that we must think about the rights of victim. If a victim is not getting justice because of prevailing legislature then we must do some amendment to keep intact the trust of society in prevailing system.

A good code/law is always needed to update  for maintaining discipline among us.

A society is known by its team spirit of people in rising together.
This motto must be preserved.
Thank god .... We have a strong democratic system based on four seen and many unseen positive pillars  where one may raise his voice, ask and advice for amendment.

Before concluding this topic I would like to pay my respect to deceased girl - victim of this barbaric crime who is not between us but her sacrifice has able to awaken our souls not for any one else but for us. God be with her..Amen!!

Power is poison

Dedicated to (Late) Mrs. Indira Gandhi- the most unforgettable woman of my time and (Late) Sh. Rajiv Gandhi- a man who was ahead thinker of his time and age.

"Power is poison"- Recently while reading a news clip abut the first speech as vice-president of a national political party, a young leader mentioned about this phrase. It is the first lesson from mother to the son who has been given a huge responsibility to carry this over his shoulders. A relation ship between mother and son is like a pure source of energy. It develops one ‘s emotional and spiritual strength. It is like sacred river of holy water, blesses the persons involved.  His father ( RIP) was a great creative mind  who could think beyond his age and time.... I noticed about him that his decisions were not only talks ... They were actions too.

OK, how does the power corrupts an innocent mind is not hidden from us that is why it is a 'VISH-MANTHAN'.  But can we escape from this? or we are forced to drink it. Socrates had no choice, Jesus was forced and Mahatma Gandhi knew it too. I feel that no one can escape from the designed destiny. The only difference it the choice in the process and way to reach and earnestly doing the assigned duties.

Dear friends, Lets share a story about the mind-set of a king. Long ago, there was a great king. He was wise, good administrator and a kind hearted person. He respected his fellow men as well as people of his state. He had a son, young and energetic but lacks experience. The king used to share good rapport with him and try to teach him important lesson through life-experiences. Once a while, they used to go out of palace and took the leisure walk over their elephant in the cities. The son love that part of life as it was the time when he could discuss anything or everything with his father. However the son did not like one thing that when they go out on their ride, the elephant  usually surrounded by stray dogs who usually bark over them in the journey. That irritated the son as well as mahout but the king-the father usually remained calm and at peace w/o showing any expression. the son felt that the these stray dogs had no respect for the king's ride and that is why they barked over it. Once a while in the ride when that happened again, the son got furious and ordered mahout to tell soldiers to kill all the stray dogs of the state. Before mahout could communicate the same to soldiers, the king told him not to do that and took back the order issued by the prince. The son could not understand the reason for doing so. He remained mum and annoyed too over that issue. The king, being a father too, understood the mental condition of prince- his son. On reaching at palace, the father called his son to his room and asked the reason for his annoyance. The prince explained the reason to king that as the barking dogs disturbed them a lot that is why he ordered to kill them. The father explained him that he himself got irritated with barking of stray dogs and he could have issued that order much before but there was a reason for not doing so. The son asked the reason from his father. The father told him if such type of order be issued, the soldiers would complied that order w/o any delay or failure but in that case these dogs which did another good job of night watchman in villages as they barked on suspicious persons in night if they come to village for committing crime i.e. robbery, theft, dacoity, abduction etc. Thus they kept those persons away from innocent residents and filled the trust of public in the system by providing safety to them. A king is known for protecting his people so if crime incidents would be increased then there would be a hue-&-cry among the people as they would think that the king was not able to save their life and property from those mischief-mongers. It would reduce and shatter their trust in administration and system which ultimately belonged to king-himself. Therefore for the welfare and protection of people he did not issue such orders which might have big repercussion among people despite having sufficient power of doing so.

A system is run though power as that power is acknowledge at every stage. One shall not need to show it again and again to all. It is easy to give sword to a monkey for protecting while sleeping but it is impossible to save one's life even when a mosquito sits at the fore head as the monkey would cut the head to kill the mosquito.

A power is the introduction of self -hood but it shall always remains in mind that brings the ample responsibility. This is good, one knows about its Mal-function. The salt if added in pinch is good for taste but consumed in excess quantity would poison the food. A king must understand that there must be a space for creative criticism as it reduces the annoyance of people and gives positive aura to system. Being king is not as difficult task but remains there for long time is arduous & could be possible only through regular retrospection and good pieces of advice from the council/friends and above all by controlling the lust and desire for unseen threats and dangers offered in the way.

We all have hero in us... just listen the heart.... Do not let the seeing becomes the obstacle in feeling the vision....

Believe this...Life is such a beautiful gift.. If it has given you pain, it has given you patience to bear it, if it has given you sorrow, it has given you enough happiness to celebrate, if it has given you tears, it has given me loud laughs,.... Say thanks to life for living your emotions!!

Remember it, an advice is always come from self.. There is no short-cut for success and only penchant is the key to victory. Wrong decisions - only they have power to bring you down to ashes...You have a long way to go... Do not forget, the victory which is got through betrayal and deceitful means does not fill rejoice in life of victor.....

You have the power... wish you could remember this always....

Best of luck and good wishes from one who admires the relationships and responsibilities carrying capacities.

The Quest

Some times the lovers when in love face a moment when the silence between them starts killing the emotions hidden in them. It generally happens at the initial stage when they generally try to read each other's mind w/o other person letting it know. as they do not able to read due to gap of communication, this failure further increases their ego and then the time comes who would speak first. It enhances their sorrow and annoyance. They feel detached and heavy with this burden that whether they have taken a right decision for each other. Whether they would suitable to each other. This temporary phase may lead to closing of doors opened by their respective heart. The quest for finding something comfortable is still on.

We all have a voice inside us but we should know whether this is the voice of our emotion or our thought. A thought takes shape through the process and experience of our emotions on ground realities. An emotion takes shape when it arises. Listen the thought but follow the emotion.Know self,  it would help you to know the better half too. The eyes only speak when some one is there to understand them. The silence will be understood when words would lose their sound. Do not wait to let it happen, make it happen. A flower may wait for spring but the love will blossom now. A journey is never perfect and neither it should be then how can a lover can be perfect.
This life is full of sorrow but do not forget that there is an opportunity in living it. That opportunity gives us  courage and patience to bear the sorrows. The love does same with us. Love is an opportunity. We should not miss that.

For knowing this the lovers need to know each other. The more they know, more they laugh. A trust is the result of surrender not of attentiveness. The meeting in dreams can be possible if you sleep well and for that you need to be at peace.

There is no perfect love but there is love-perfection. Achieve that.

Hope my quest rather every one's quest shall be ended with positive note. Amen!!

Dance- A life: Any Body Can Dance

Today just watching a movie based on dance, I am remembering my school days when it was one of the passion of my life. I still recollect at one stage of life it had become the main objective of my day-to-day life. I think myself like everyone that I-myself am a born dancer who love dancing from the moment I have started listening music at our radio set. I was not aware about the words and there was no understanding of music but my feet moved with the beats of music. I remembered my mother told me that when I heard the songs from a Indian movie called 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna' - a hippy culture based cult-movie in early 70's, no one could stop me from dancing. With the passage of time, I enjoyed dancing at every function and wedding. I had become like a wedding crasher as I did not miss any single chance of dancing there. With the passage of time when I was hardly 12 yrs old, a change in music occurred and new beat disco music arose as boom in daily life. The radio-set was bombarded with disco beats. I still remember the first song sang by late Nazia Hasan for Indian movie 'Qurbani' called "Aap jaisa koi meri jindagi me" which I thought as she is singing 'Compton-crompton' song as I was not understanding the lyrics. It was a biggest hit overnight and Nazia Hasan became a national youth icon with her beautiful face and light hearted voice. I think it was my crush over her as well. She further sang many other songs with her cousin as well and I heard them repeatdly. They had also become instant hits. An Indian movie called 'Star' which got low response but its music was hit and appreciated by all had her lead voice. {It was the time when John Trovolta was knocking the world with "Grease".} Once I danced non stop for one hour over her tracks in front of my friends  and family. I did not have tape recorder that time as tape (Cassette) were the source of choice music. I wanted to have one and which I got gifted from my sister at later stage.  Sooner another movie star Mithun Chakravorty who became famous as a known disco dancer of 80's took the arena. His dance movements were so ecstatic that we all were trying to copy them. The famous songs from his movies- Disco Dancer, KPKK, Suraksha, DDD became the anthem overnight.{ It was the time when MJ was gifting the best album- Thriller to us} Till that time I did not hear any international music except once one of my friend Raj got me listened 'Love in C minor and 'Love to love' by Donna Summer due their erotic style of singing. It is the time when I saw "Body rock"- an international dance movie followed by Maniac, Fast forward and others. I still remembered the young boy who danced as electric in the Body Rock movie but I was not aware about the dance style so I did not think much about the way of style and remained happy with what I knew. Those steps seemed to me as impossible to do by me. Once I danced on a stage in school fair on a song called "I am a disco dancer" and applauded a lot by the crowd so it was high time for me as I was famous between my friends as a good dancer but one day I discovered that one of our friend Ban who was known as a very shy guy was dancing as disco dancer and took over the unseen throne from me. It was shocking to me. He had become famous and in demand more than me. It was disheartening. Now the time had come that when I must know something more and new so I decided to come up with latest dance trend but nothing was coming in mind somehow in between I was told about a dance teacher-Naresh. He was teaching a dance called break dance. I tried to figure out about that type of dancing as I was totally unaware about such dance style. I was informed it is the same dancing style which I had seen in movie-Body rock. I was surprised and happy to know it. I was told that he taught dance at the basement of "Kafila" restaurant in Karol Bagh market area. I went there and found that he had already shifted from that place but somehow I got his residence telephone number. It was the time when  the technology of mobile phone was not in used. Next morning I called him and took appointment for dance tuitions. He told me  about the fee and it was a handsome amount but I requested my parents and arranged it with their help. I went to him along with my school friend Kapil who wanted to learn it as well. Kapil somehow left after 2 days but I kept continued. For whole month he gave tuitions and taught me a few basics and finished the course. I remembered that there were 3 students and I was the worst. There I met another dancer- Pepie. He was a better dancer and Naresh had his group with him and others. That is the first time I had my int' music cassette. It was same as collection of hits including of above mentioned songs which I heard for the first time. I showed that cassette to Naresh and he advised me to get another cassette of fast tracks for improvement. I went to shop and asked music for break dance and shop keeper handed over me a tape of songs from movie- break Dance-I. I practiced on a track called 'Freak show on the dance floor' so in the next month I took the risk to show my new dance technique to all in my school. It was a solo dance competition. First time I prepared my dance dress. It was white cotton baggy pents with little embroidery on the both sides. The shop keeper asked me to give words to write there. As in one of the advertisement I read "Lets Come Closer". I asked him to put it there along with name of girl on whom I had a crush in other regional language. I wore a navy blue plain shirt of my brother with white w/o sleeves jacket got it from Janpath flea market. I borrowed high shoes of 'Life' brand and got my first local wayfarer shades. I fixed a band behind that so it should not fall in the performance. It was the pleasant day of March and I was all there in my dancing gears. It was the same day when first time I went to any 5 star hotel. The other participants were there and most of them were doing disco dance style performance and I was there as an exceptional dance style.  I still remembered that due to nervousness I just thought to perform disco dance at one stage as I was quite nervous but determined myself to show the latest dance steps which I had learnt hardly a 10 days back. So when the music started from my tape and I arrived on stage and due to crowd's noise forgot what next to do. Somehow I did my all steps w/o stopping or taking care of rhythm. I finished my performance there were only 5 people were clapping and they were my friends. All other just took a sigh of rest that my performance was concluded. It was bad than the worst. Later on I practiced and practiced and practiced. I was improving and improving but the best was still beyond reach. I met many dancers, watched them, learned from them. Ultimately with in 7/8 months, I was more confident and I had a dance buddy-Dino. We participated in inter school competition at St. Columbus school. The first time I danced on my favorite track "Axel F". Naresh  was also there with his group. It was his last performance. Naresh was surprised to see me there as he had not expected  that despite my worst dance learning I would be there as contestant. None of us won that time and another dancer Joseph - Sam won the contest. ( Later on I and Joseph with others  formed a group called "Yuva Biradari" and performed together on various occasions) In between I met Devdutt-Deva who helped me like my elder brother and showed me a few good steps. He further gifted me his knee pads and leg warmers which I used in all performances. {I further gifted them to Sanjay-Sam at the time of dance competition 'Fizzical"-1988.} Thereafter I did not turned back and for almost next 2 years remained busy with dancing. I won several acclamations and prizes. It was wonderful time. Wherever I went people came to me and mentioned about my previous performances which they liked a lot. The dance has helped me to know more side of me. I have started listening int' music. George Michael became my favorite singer. It was the time when I started meeting with new people w/o any hesitation. I had got many friends became famous, energetic and lovable. I controlled my weight and came into shape. When I started dance I was 68-72 kgs and then I reached to 54-62 kgs because of my exercise and intensive physical schedule. I still remember one of my class mate Tulika told me to wear 1/2 cut w/o sleeve deep round T shirt showing my abs but that time I did not understand by what she did mean and respectfully declined it. Since then the wayfarer shades have become part of my accessories.  Dance had become my language which I spoke so fluently that I didn't have to think before. It was my personality development course and later on become the connection between god and me. My English has got improved due to my taste in music. It further helped me to focus and achieve what I needed most.  Nowadays I do not do much dancing but love to watch dance shows and movies. I still hear my dancing tracks: AXELF, Brother Luie, Respectable, Ain't no body, 19, Freak show on the dance floor, There's no stopping us, Holiday-rap, Believe in the beat, Street people etc. They still take me to 80's when I was a student- a student of 80's in my teen age. Thank you dance, you deserve all my success.
Dear friends, I have Shared this story to mention the importance of knack, focus and diligence. A worst learner could become the skillful if he believes in praxis, focus and devotion.  Imagine if I had stopped dancing after my first performance which was disheartening and failure then I would have never understood the language of god. I took that defeat as challenge and did not stop rather kept it continued. There is no short-cut for success and only penchant is the key to victory.
Thank you God for allowing me to know this beautiful language.

Through this post, I would like to remember some of my friends Joseph Dass- Vocational College, Sanjay-Sam- Sangeet Vidyalaya- Lajpat Nagar, Naresh- Khalsa College, Ravi Gosain- Satyawati College, Manoj- Lawrence road, Dinesh-Salwan College, Devdutt-Deva- Vocational College who love and appreciated as dancer in that period. I did not meet some of them for long time. Ravi is working in bollywood and can be seen in various TV programs and movies. Manoj is in Australia. Dinesh is in real-estate. All others I am looking for  and pray to god for their success in respective life. God bless all of them.. Amen!!
