FORGIVENESS
It is well said that” CSHAMA VEERASAYA BHUSHANAM” means that forgiveness is the quality of braves.
So whenever I think of this beautiful word which transforms one from human being to nearly God or God, I see a picture in my mind that a child playing in the muddy field and put lot of mud over his clothes and body, his hairs are covered with sand and soil and he is still smiling while looking at his mother as nothing has happened to him and the mother is looking and finding him the most beautiful, tidy child in this universe. Her eyes are assuring him that he should not worry about the things which are over him and he does not need any excuse to explain what went wrong at which place. She just takes him in his lap and kisses him at his cheek, takes him to home, give him a shower and wrap him in clean cloth and changes his cloth w/o any hassles. GOD DOES THE SAME WITH US when we forget to obey his directions and do something wrong , mischievous and on noticing it he just looked at us and takes us in lap, changes the “clothes” and put new “clothes” over us and give second chance to mend the ways. All the super heroes who were called as GOD have a common factor in them, they were courageous, take initiatives, natural rebel, understanding, caring and love for their friends, never afraid of their enemies and above all they have a quality to forgive their enemy despite their unlimited strength. They have a heart to forgive people who have caused them difficult pain. The other qualities can be seen in many persons but the exception is forgiveness. One needs real courage to forgive a person who has caused him difficult pain in life. Lord Rama was in pain and angry when Ravana abducted his wife Sita, but despite that he was ready to forgive him if he returns his wife with dignity and asks for pardon for doing so. Lord Krishana was ready to accept five small villages for Pandavas if Durodhana asks pardon for insulting the queen-Draupadi. This alone quality has brought them in the category of God. Jesus Christ requested the almighty to wash the sins of those who were not aware that what they were doing. While forgiving the sinner they were aware about the mental status of sinner that is why they ask for his pardon.
Forgiveness is the major tool for negative thoughts, restlessness and uncomfortable energy zone. They have understood that the poison of revenge spread through the mind will spoil the soul as well. One dies more deaths than a sinner in one’s life time. The revenge makes one separated from his purpose of life. It is well said that an eye for an eye will turn this world into blind. Lord Mahavira has dedicated his life only to understand Forgiveness. For him and his followers the word forgiveness is like a religion. Lord Buddha has the same feeling for this concept. He took this as a breath and revolves his life around this.
Forgiveness is related with soul and its journey. It is the true identity of a warrior who has mastered his emotions. One than shall not involve in conspiracies. One should possess this to take lead in his own journey. We are incomparable to anything because we all have a different journey path with an assigned task.
Forgiveness is the true form of prayer to reach god and humanity. It develops one's perspective view towards destiny and reaching purpose of life. Since the beginning of life it is related with positive energy hence it need to be a habit.. The quality of life and personality depends on essence of truthfulness and forgiveness . It keeps us away from negative thoughts and desperate feelings of revenge. Whosoever has understood, his personality progresses and he got less enemies and many friends that makes him famous, energetic and lovable. It takes away the anger and transforms one into Happy-go-lucky soul. Forgiveness is like the language which one should speaks fluently. It is the connection between god and us.
We all want to live in a society of tolerance, patience, trust, honesty and love. Forgiveness is the key to all of the above. To err is human is basic motto of this world. We all do several mistakes at various places and some of them are real big mistakes which carries one to the way of destruction. Without adding forgiveness in our life we may not able to reach to our almighty and journey for finding the destiny will be unending. The soul suffers when we do not trust the word ‘forgiveness’ and the torture of soul remains continue and uninterrupted. The holy saints knew that the fire of revenge would burn them inside and in the last only the loser would be one who could not forgive. Our life is like a train which has been controlled by a soul as its driver. If driver could not able to see that the train is being pushed on a wrong track by an action or reaction than the train will reach to wrong place from where there may not be any return. I have seen people weeping for their curse and all want to know reason for it so that they could repent and such act should be repeated knowingly or unknowingly by them. Repentance occurs when the way to forgiveness is being closed by us. We always try to find best for ourselves and our beloved ones. If given chance to meet with god the first thing the human will ask for compassion and forgiveness than the other things which will come to mind. So it is always better to know priorities of life which revolves around “FORGIVENESS”.
During our journey we do lot of mistakes, sins and deeds which causes pain to others so we always believe when we will complete our own journey the God will accepts us and will pure us and takes us with him like a mother does for his child covered with mud. When we expect same from God than we must remember that this is what he expects from us.
How can I ask for forgiveness when I am not ready to do it to you?
We must always remember that forgiveness deals with our past and It may disturb or haunt us if we do not have close affiliation with our present. Our attitude towards the universe makes a difference as whenever we do something knowingly to hurt or destroy the designs of lives of people who are directly or indirectly associated with us, we start creating nightmares for ourselves , these nightmares would disturb us in our lonely and painful hours of life when we will be broken and fragile. We will become so fearful that even the thoughts of happiness and joys do not able to get us a sound sleep. Today i.e.08.06.2011 while watching TV news (which I generally don’t watch as they disturb me and I do not want to be happy over the pathetic situation of others as well) I saw that One African gentleman youth hit a Asian Sikh old man of 62 yrs because of his looks, turban, beard and told him as Osama Bin laden's brother. It happened in a busy train where this Sikh gentleman was sitting and the youth wanted him to vacate the seat for him. I believe that the Sikh gentle man must have forgiven him as I am in totally favor of forgiveness and I believe that the path he chosen for his life as Sikh tells through Guru Nanak that forgiveness is the crafted work of god but now when I think about that youth’s mind set and imagine when that youth would be in his 50es and one day he would be travelling in some metro /train /tube whatsoever we may call that tpt. and this incident would come back to his memories and haunt him, where will he hide himself. he will try to find this gentleman Sikh at that time and on no finding he would repent and go for making confession before the god and weep again and again for this horrible act of his life why he had hit a weak body and strong soul. We hope and pray that he would get some peace at that time and forgive by the soul of the old Sikh so that he would not have to suffer in his old and fragile age when he was not able to travel as standing commuter in a train. We should always remember that whatever we are doing now will not ashamed us in future, only then we would be able to do justice and asked for forgiveness and can make peace with our past so it would not come to disturb us in our present for that we should also understand the process of forgiveness as at initial stage to forgive is difficult. Despite the best applications and understanding we may collapse in forging the people. The pain caused by them when become unbearable or hurt our heart like a fire; we feel that the reason for this must be destroyed completely. We start moving in a specific direction with the aim to shoot the targeted person by any or every mean of tool for destruction. The revenge becomes unbearable and unsettle and all means end at one place i.e. Revenge. I connect this with our memory. The best way to forgive a person is to forget him at first instance. We should not give him a second which could remind of him. We must understand that some people do not exist for us as there will not be any existence therefore revenge will have no meaning. I know it is difficult but we must understand that whosoever has won over the emotions of enmity. Jealousy, lust etc has understood the universe in better manner.
This is what we have to do to accomplish the task assigned to us. We should remember this that it is not what we are doing for others; it is what we are doing for ourselves, for our own salvation.
